Our SENCO Forums provide a national perspective, speakers and resources as well as an independent view of SEND and supporting pupils.

Each term the agenda offers training opportunities and includes updates that will assist your SENCO role in school such as updates on national issues, planning advice, useful resources and best practice; as well as giving you the opportunity to share experiences and network with other SENCOs in your area.

SENCOs tell us that the Forums compliment local groups which tend to focus on local issues.

Why not make a day of it by attending our morning training session too - for further information see Full SENCO Training Day

Topics this term will include:

  • Attachment in Education – Julia Harrison-Smith
We are delighted to welcome Julia from EDUCLA (Improving Educational Outcomes for Children Looked After) She has a wealth of experience of working with children who are in the care system and also in alternative education such as PRUs.
  • Getting to Know You
  • Special iApps – Colin Dean
I met Colin at an exhibition in Penrith and was very impressed by the apps he has developed for children with SEN and also for EYFS and know you will be interested in them too.  He is a parent of a pupil with learning difficulties and this has been his motivation to develop his resources.
  • Updates

Our SENCO forums always include updates and advice to support your SENCO role; along with lots of sharing of best practice and networking opportunities with other schools in your locality.
