SENCO Training 2019/20

Our SENCO Training is delivered in conjunction with Zena Martin and Inclusive Learning North Ltd.

If you've attended previous SENCO forums you will already know Zena and know how skilled and knowledgeable she is, encompassing everything relating to Special Educational Support and Inclusion within the Primary provision.

If you're new to the SENCO role, Inclusive Learning North have recently launched a New2SENCO training programme, which you should find very useful. It's being rolled out in 3 areas to begin with, but watch out for others being launched in the future.

The flier / booking form is now available (click the red button below).

Why not make a day of it! Combine the morning CPD and the afternoon SENCO Forum and we'll throw in a 2 course lunch for a discounted rate of £150 per place.

Or just book for the afternoon SENCO Forum or the Morning CPD

If you want to send a different person to the morning that's fine, just let us know on the booking form

COST per place:  Full Days: £150   ♦   AM or PM only: £80    ♦     Additional morning places £60

'Getting Social Stories Really Right'

Spring 2020 picThis course teaches you how to write a social story using the specific structure advocated by Carol Gray. You will learn how to spot an ineffective social story and how to collect the right information to form your story focus. The session includes writing a story for a child you know, guided by Lynn McCann.

Lynn is the author of "Stories that Explain" (a collection of social stories for primary children) and has been writing social stories for over 12 years.

SEND Forum afternoon: Spring Term 2020

Transition for pupils with SEND:  “Where are we going?”

Transition happens on many levels:

  • Day-to-day
  • Term-to-term
  • Year-to-year
  • Between schools and phases

Spring 2020 pic2Times of transition happen on many levels. For many pupils with SEND, poor understanding of the significance of transition on the part of adults can be the trigger for anxiety and negative behaviour on the part of children. This training session will explore some guiding principles and strategies can create successful transitions and avoid unnecessary problems. We look at how to build strong transition into policy and practice through collaboration with colleagues.

Plus all the usual features including ‘SEND updates’ and ‘Next steps in SEND’:

We explore the current debate surrounding school exclusions and offers initial guidance on positive steps for SENCOS and other leaders
